BRLO CHICKEN & BEER AT KADEWE
BRLO CHICKEN & BEER – Following the success of our BRLO BRWHOUSE, we opened our second restaurant in June 2018 doing particularly untraditional things at a particularly traditional place: Chicken and beer on the 6th floor of the KaDeWe.
With eight different types of BRLO beer are here at the taps – including the familiar Helles, Pale Ale and Berliner Weisse – we’re also offering the naturally cloudy KaDeWe Pils, brewed by us and sold in the adjacent shop, featuring the department store’s iconic bottle design. (And BRLO CHICKEN & BEER at KaDeWe is the only place where you can get it freshly tapped!)
But perhaps, the most special part of this new endeavor is something that you can’t see – and something you might not know. See, for over 20 years – and in the same spot – there was a popular chicken grill that provided smiles and full bellies to some of the earliest customers, and whose traditions we continue to carry – namely the menu offerings from a rotisserie grill – whole and half chicken – along with French fries, Caesar Salad and Fried Chicken.
But compare this to our BRWHOUSE menu and you can see a major difference in menu offerings – our vegetable-focused dishes of the BRLO BRWHOUSE vs. a seemingly simple menu at KaDeWe, but this is intended to consciously record the history of the place, to be part of its evolution, while making sure that the regular customers are still happy. And hey! Where else in Berlin can you get a grilled chicken that you can eat without a guilty conscience?
As with our beer – which is brewed only from the best raw materials – we have put a lot of emphasis on the choice of food. So only Kikok chicken are used, which are fed exclusively with wheat and corn and are guaranteed to be free of antibiotics and genetic engineering. Real poultry that tastes like real poultry.
